The Roding Karate Supporters Committee

The committee is made up of parents who volunteer their time to help raise funds and provide resources to help enhance every students time at the Club. The committee organise events throughout the year for students and their families.  If you have any fundraising ideas please speak to one of the committee who are Carla Ince, Dean Ince, Kate Russell, Dave Smith, Geoff Wood and Linda Wood.

Christmas Disco 2014

Our Christmas Disco was once again held at Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club and we had a phenomenal turnout this year. We would like to thank each and every student and their families and friends who helped make this night such an amazing success. We were lucky enough to have a very special visit from Father Christmas himself. The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, good cheer and there was of course the annual awards for students. Well done to everyone who received an award. The disco raised an amazing £625 for the club.

Black Tie Ball – Saturday 4th October 2014

Our Annual Fundraising Ball was again a massive success and a fantastic night for all that attended. Blakes Golf club, North Weald was a lovely venue and Ball goers partied into the night after enjoying a three course meal and making the most of the all inclusive bar. The night inlcuded games, a raffle, eating, drinking, dancing and lots and lots of laughter. Thank you to all that attended. The Ball raised an amazing £2,000 for the club and we would like to thanks each and every person who helped as achieve this by either attending, buying raffle tickets, donating prizes, without everyone’s support these events wouldn’t be as successful.

May 2014, Sponsored Exercise
Thankyou and congratulations to all who have handed in their Sponsor money from our Exercise challenge, we are so proud that you have contributed to our club no matter how much or how little you’ve raised,every penny counts!

We have a winner from each instructors class for the highest earners, these are :—
Daniela who raised a phenomenal £279, Daniel raised an amazing £191, Harry raised a fantastic £60, Enzo raised a fabulous £132 and Lola raised a super £75. Well done to these students, what amazing amounts.

April 2014, Quiz Night
Roding Karate Supporters Club held a fun quiz night for all the family. Teams included up to eight adults and children and every team was highly competitive . On the night there was a  crazy 1 minute auction with some very special lots! The night was massive success raising an amazing £400 for the Club.

December 2013- Christmas Disco
Our annual Christmas Disco was once again a great night for all that attended.  There were some great awards given to some amazing students.  It was also a chance to celebrate 10 years of New Roding Karate and suprise Dean and Carla with a gift to thank them for all they do for the club.  The night was filled with dancing, laughter and friends. What a perfect way to finish the year.

November 2013 – Black Tie Ball
Roding Karate Club presented their first Black Tie Ball held at Friern Manor. The event was organised by members from the Committee Dave Smith, Caroline Jacobs and Carla Ince in order to raise funds for the club and assist in purchases of equipment and for Students to attend National Competitions across the country. The evening was a great success attended by many of the parents, whose children train with the club, accompanied with their many friends and families. The food was glorious and the venue for our first major event was stunning. All those who attended enjoyed the opportunity to attend a function dressed to the nines. The committee and club would like to thank all everyone who attended and who supported the event. The attendees had a great night and the students will greatly benefit from the event.

Friern Manor 4th October 2013

July 2013 – Southend Trip
By providing a group booking with Peter Pans wrists bands the committee was able to arrange a trip to Southend for the participating families to enjoy a beautiful day out by the coast. The day was glorious, the sun came out to celebrate and a great time was had by all. A wonderful opportunity for the families and students to share and enjoy.

June 2013  – Quiz Night
Our second quiz night held by the committee hosted by Caroline Jacobs and Geoff Wood in order to raise funds with the venue at the Boswell Club, Brentwood. Our quiz nights offers the opportunity for the whole family to enjoy and the night once again had a good attendance. Congratulations to Katie Russell and co who were the winning team of the night

May 2013 – Photo Treasure Hunt
Each year Roding Karate Club goes on holiday and the students get the opportunity to train . This year the committee got together and set up a treasure hunt task for the whole camp to take part. Participants were irequested to capture pictures listed in  the treasure hunt and submit the photos for awards. The sensei’s were tasked with selecting the winning photos. What a week to remember and all captured in digital colour.  Fun was had by all and it was a pleasure to see everyone taking part.

May 2013 – Spring Disco
The committee held a spring disco held at the Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club including a fancy dress competition for our younger members. We had a great turnout with many entrants. Members from the committee Dave Smith Ken Jordan and Roger Garett were judges of the competition and presented the winners prize.  The Club and Committee would like to thank all those who helped to make the night an enjoyable event and a big thank you for your support.

March 2013 – Sponsored Sit-ups
In March the committee ran a sponsor sit up event for all students to take part. Our students were encouraged to do 100 situps in one class those purple belt and above 300. We had a massive response and the funds raised have been used to help set up our brand new web site and to help fund T shirts for those students who attend national competitions. The event was a great success, a prize was awarded  to the student who raised the most money and the best outcome was that all our students and seneis worked on becoming fitter and stronger. A big thank you to all.

February 2013 – Quiz Night
Roding Karate Club held its very first quiz night in February to offer an opportunity for the families to have a great night. Caroline Jacob and Geoff Wood hosted the evening to large number of teams. The committee would like to thank everyone one for the raffle donations and taking part in the raffle in order to raise funds to help students to finance their entrants fees to national competitions. It was a close finish between the teams but Steve and Greg’s team became the first RSK quiz night celebrities. We would like to thank the Bardswell Club in Brentwood for the venue and we look forward to our next event.

December 2012 – Christmas Disco 
The newly formed  Roding Karate Supporters Committee kicked off with the annual Christmas Disco held at Dagenham & Redbridge Football Club. Many new and older students brought along their families and had a great time. The raffle was a great success with many winners and a big thank you goes out to all those who donated the prizes and also those who took part purchasing the tickets. Dean Ince 5th Dan awarded selected members of the Roding Karate team, trophies for their outstanding achievements over the year. In addition, all the members were awarded in recognition of their loyalty and commitment to the club.  The night was a great success and the committee looks forward to hosted many more events in the coming year and help raise funds to support students to attend competitions and also purchase equipment for the club.
